Artist's proof from an edition of eighty. Printed by Jack Shirreff at the 107 Workshop, Wiltshire, published by Alan Cristea Gallery, London, the full sheet, framed

Illustrated in the Catalogue Raisonne of the artist's prints, ref no. 101, by Liesbeth Heenk. Conceived as a series for the benefit of the Elton John Aids Foundation. 

As outlined in the aforementioned Catalogue Raisonne, "Hodgkin said that the title Norwich refers not to the place, but to an acronym mentioned in Evelyn Waugh's wartime writings - ('Dear Fifi or Doris or whomever: "Knickers Off, Ready When I Come Home" '). 

As further stated in the Catalogue Raisonne:
"Norwich.....in which Hodgkin pushed hand colouring to its limits; it's printed surface is thickly covered in ultramarine blue, white and cadmium red acrylic. So much so that the original printed surface is barely visible".
