Maryport harbour. by Percy Kelly

The painting was a gift from Percy Kelly to the vendor we've acquired it from, as a thank you for taking Joan David, Percy's long-time friend and correspondent, to visit him at his house at Peartree Cottage in Norfolk in September 1992. In the event this was the last time Joan saw Percy before his death in 1993. An account of the visit can be read in Chris Wadsworth, The Painted Letters of Percy Kelly, p. 125-6.
