A beautiful portrait of Jagger's wife-to-be, Catherine (Kitty). Kitty was a music hall actress and model for many distinguished artists of the day, in was in that capacity she met David Jagger who she was later to marry in 1921. This tender portrait depicts Kitty in theatrical costume. 

A letter is attached verso which reads:

"Charles,
Phoned Jagger this morning 22nd May 1952 and he said the sitter was Kitty Dale and he must have painted it soon after arriving in London from Sheffield. He arrived in London in 1913 and said the picture was painted about 1920. His pictures were disposed of through a fine art society"
