A wonderful vibrant scene, painted from the garden of one of the houses Duncan Grant and other members of the Bloomsbury Group stayed in. Cassis was a vital creative retreat for the Bloomsbury Group during the 1920s and 30s. Artists Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant, along with others including Roger Fry, frequented the area, renting houses like “La Bergère” to paint, socialize, and escape British winters
