A raft of new works from our travels

21st April, 2023

A busy three weeks

We’ve been very active over the last three weeks, acquiring new works for the gallery, all may be seen HERE.

We have work from the 1980s by the late Bill Peascod, nude studies from both Duncan Grant and Sir Terry Frost, a very rare oil by Ivon Hitchens from 1966, exploring the figure, together with a raft of other acquisitions from the length and breadth of the UK, including our ever-popular affordable Mid Century Modern Alternatives selection. We really do generally acquire a number of art works each week, so it always pays to keep an eye on our Latest Work section of the website, along with following us on both Instagram and Facebook where often early mentions are made. We’ve not ventured onto TikTok as yet, as despite achieving my (Steve) bronze award for disco dancing in 1979 aged ten, such things are long past me.

The Appleby Brothers

Just a further note on our next exhibition, a collection of new paintings and drawings by the very talented Appleby brothers. The exhibition will go live in-gallery from the 13th May, but will be available online likely a week or so prior to that. Both Louis and Alex really are at the forefront of the renaissance in British contemporary painting; it’s a show we’re very much looking forward to staging.

All for now,

Steve and Christine
