Sheila Fell Reception
11th April, 2014
Our Sheila Fell reception takes place this Saturday 12th April 12-3 (gallery open 10-5). Over twenty works will be on show, many not having been available or publicly seen since their original purchase in the 50s, 60s and 70s, including Farm, Cumberland, a wonderful never before seen painting being worked on by Sheila at the time of her death in 1979. This arrived too late for the catalogue but will be on show and is listed with all the other works here http://www.castlegatehouse.co.uk/exhibition-details.php?EID=36
Eight works have already sold (all will remain on show for the duration of the exhibition) and we're expecting a large turn-out on Saturday. The award-winning Shills of Cockermouth will be providing the wine and canapés, and we're hugely looking forward to exhibiting works by one of the twentieth century's greatest landscape artists.
We've appeared on both BBC and ITV news in the last two weeks, and ITV have dug out a couple of clips of interviews with Sheila from the 1960s as part of the news coverage. Links below.
Hope to see you all during the exhibition.
