Perceptions - art from the Cumbrian Fells
28th February, 2014
We're very proud to announce the launch of our latest exhibition, Perceptions http://www.castlegatehouse.co.uk/exhibition-details.php?EID=41
It is a record of the responses of two men to a shared landscape. Both walking the Cumbrian Fells together, Alistair Tucker responding though art, David Lewis through poetry.
On show will be almost forty works by Alistair, including oils, watercolours, graphite and etchings; the variety and quality is simply stunning and really needs to be seen in the flesh to appreciate just how good this body of work is. On show we'll also have selected poetry by David, and a collection of his work will be available for sale.
Alistair has exhibited at Castlegate for several years, and is an award-winning and successfully exhibited artist and an elected member of the prestigious Royal Birmingham Society of Artists. David is a respected poet from mid-Wales, with numerous published books and adaptations for BBC Radio to list on his CV.
The exhibition will be hung from Saturday 8th March, with a reception from 12-2pm. Both Alistair and David will be in attendance and talking about their respective works, with no doubt David reading a selection of his works. ALL OF ALISTAIR'S WORKS ARE AVAILABLE FOR SALE FROM RELEASE OF THIS NOTE, and although not hung until the 8th March, all are on site and therefore if any works are of interest, they're available to see at the gallery, just ask.
All for now, we look forward to seeing you during the exhibition, and on the 8th if you can make it !
