New Work for Summer

17th July, 2016

Grayson Perry - Six Snapshots of Julie (i) Grayson Perry - Six Snapshots of Julie (i)

Taking us through to our next solo show in September, we have a full Summer exhibition of new work to the gallery, sourced from far and wide. All may be seen HERE. This will be an ever-changing mix, with new works added weekly.

Some of the highlights include works from GRAYSON PERRY (RA). We’ve acquired from Grayson’s publishers a set of his woodcut printmaking, titled Six Snapshots of Julie. For all those who saw his recent TV programme “A House for Essex”, these will be very familiar to you. We’ve also sourced a very rare numbered edition of Animal Spirt (yellow). If you want to know what top-notch etching is like, take a look.

We’ve also sourced some wonderful work by the late MARY FEDDEN from a private collection, and we have some brilliant new drawings from our young astounding talent, namely RICHARD FITTON.

Add to this works by GEOFFREY KEY, ALEX HAIN, BILL BELL and BARBARA RAE, amongst others, and there’s lots to see.

Our next solo show will commence on 10th September, and will be an exhibition of work by arguably the best ceramic sculptor of animal form at work anywhere, Nichola Theakston; much more of that to follow.

For anyone planning on calling into the gallery in the coming couple of weeks, some of the work highlighted here may not be on show initially, as some items are being framed. Just call first to check.

Finally, we’re thrilled to announce that Castlegate House is now part of perhaps the best international web portal for galleries and collectors, Artsy. Some of the world’s top galleries are represented on Artsy, and we’re very proud to have been accepted also. You may see our page HERE and I’d encourage anyone who wishes to receive notification of any new work by the artists listed there, to follow us and/or the artist. It really is a very good system and we’ll be increasing the artists listed there in time.

All for now,

Steve and Christine
