New work and Grayson on show

30th January, 2020

After a return from the hectic bubble-world that is the hugely enjoyable London Art Fair, we now have a body of new work into the gallery from the talented Helen Fryer, all of which may be seen HERE. We've taken the opportunity to have a full rehang with works now on show by John Bellany and Sheila Fell, amongst others. We've also placed on show five rare ceramic works by Grayson Perry. All five date from the mid 80s to mid 90s and tie in perfectly with the just-opened Grayson Perry, the pre-therapy years exhibition at the Holburne Museum in Bath. We went to see it just a few days ago and it's well worth travelling to; an extensive body of collector-loaned pieces from Grayson's first decade of production.

With just two weeks left to go for entry into The Castlegate Prize, we've been astounded by the volume and quality of applications, judging should be a difficult and enjoyable experience in equal measure. For any artists out there or those knowing artists, take a look by clicking on The Castlegate Prize website and enter, there's the chance of winning the £10,000 prize and all of the entry fee is donated to YoungMinds, so you're effectively donating to a brilliant charity doing brilliant things.

All for now,

Steve and Christine
