New Talent and a Northern Theme

11th August, 2014

After the furore of the June Bennett exhibition, we have a full new gallery of work to take us through to, and into, September

There's a full array of new works by the likes of Barbara Rae and Wilhelmina Barnes-Graham, wonderful views of Kirkgate by Peter Quinn, and the introduction to the gallery of the new work by Jessica (Jess) Pigott. Jess is a true find, a recent graduate of Wimbledon College of Arts, and as I write this, two of the three works have sold before the doors have even opened! Jess is truly talented, and we'll be bringing you more of her wonderful work in the future. For now, be quick, Trees II remains available ! You can see her regularly updated blog here also  (she's trying to find a new studio at the moment, as you can read about).

You'll notice a bit of a "northern" theme in the exhibition works. In truth, it's a bit of a homage to Norman Cornish, who, as mentioned last week, died on 1st August aged 94. We love Norman's work, so not only do we have works by Norman, but also, in that genre, John Thompson, Alan Lowndes, Derek Slater, Bill Bell and Tom Dack, to name but a few. We've even sneaked in our Joan Eardley Glasgow Boy; hey, why wouldn't you ?!

We're also lucky to have been the recipients of many a new pot from some of the finest potters working in the UK today, including Jim Malone, Doug Fitch, Hannah McAndrew, William Plumptre and Tim Lake.

As usual, there's lots going on..

Steve and Christine
p.s. don't forget, the physical gallery will be closed from Monday 18th to Friday 22nd August, inclusive. Still available via phone and email, as always
