29th July, 2012
Well, one week in and to be honest, I think we already have the first chapter of a future book. We've met some great people during the first week; I'm sure that will continue.
During our first exhibition, we'll gradually introduce some of our new Gallery Artists (artists from whom we'll source work directly on an ongoing basis) to compliment works acquired by us. Our second exhibition, in September, will showcase all of our gallery artists. We've retained the relationships of Karen Wallbank, June and Michael Bennett and Helen Tabor, but will be showing at least seven new Gallery Artists, which we're very excited about. One is Paul Robinson, a Cumbrian currently in exile in Norfolk, but who paints the most wonderful Lakeland landscapes meeting humour. We'll be showing several of his works in September, but as a taster, we've just hung two in the gallery, which are available now. More tasters from other new Gallery Artists to follow in the coming couple of weeks.
Thanks to all who have called in, and for those yet to walk up the hill, we'll be buying some kindling later today; come and enjoy the Cumbrian summer warmth.
