John Bellany - Doors open Saturday 24th 10am
22nd March, 2018
A reminder that we open the doors to an important collection of paintings by the late John Bellany (RA) on Saturday (24th) at 10am, with a reception from noon onward. Fifteen works will be on show, with all but one available to become the new custodian over; all may be seen HERE.
We'll have on show Pourquoi (1967), arguably John's most important work and one of the most important paintings by a British artist of the latter twentieth century. If you can see this painting, see it, it's an astonishing and thought provoking painting. Amongst others, along side this will be six paintings acquired from a direct Bellany family member, all never before having been seen or "through the trade" as the folks on the Antiques Roadshow like to say.
The exhibition will run for three weeks until Saturday 14th April.
Hopefully we'll see many of you over the course of the exhibition.
