Helen Fryer - Doors Open
16th March, 2016
Just a quick reminder that we open the doors for our Helen Fryer solo exhibition this Saturday, 19th March http://www.castlegatehouse.co.uk/exhibitions/helen-fryer/
Doors will open at 10am, with a wine/nibbles reception from 12 noon until 2pm, with Helen there to tell you all about her new work. With thirty eight paintings on show, it’ll prove to be a really impressive display by a very talented Cumbrian artist, tracing a year from West Cumbria to the isles and coasts of Scotland.
As usual, the gallery will be closed this coming Friday, 18th, to allow us to hang Helen’s paintings in readiness for Saturday.
For those who haven’t been to Cockermouth before, or recently, it’s well worth a visit. Not just for the gallery (which clearly it is), but we have one of the best wine merchants /delis in the north, Shills, and an array of fine restaurants, including the spectacular vegetarian fayre at The Quince and Medlar. Add to that a raft of independent shops including Lilly & Co and Indigo Lounge, and it’s well worth a visit. With the floods of December the town has been in the headlines for the wrong reasons of late; but it’s back in business and a great place to spend some time. There, local town promotion over (but it really is a great little Georgian town!).
All for now, hope to see you all on Saturday, but if not, the exhibition will run until the 9th April.
