Editions - Best of British, Opens on Saturday

30th May, 2017

A reminder that we open the doors of the gallery this coming Saturday (3rd June) at 10am to works by six of the biggest names in British contemporary art, including the likes of Grayson Perry (RA), Frank Auerbach and Barbara Rae (RA). All may be seen HERE but trust us, there’s no replacement for seeing these works in the flesh, especially Britain is Best, an astounding textile work by Grayson Perry.

Many of these works and artists are seldom seen away from a small few prestigious galleries in London, so we’re thrilled to be dedicating the gallery for five weeks to their works. We’re particularly thrilled to be exhibiting works by Frank Auerbach, who we amongst many consider to be the greatest living British Artist. Others certainly do, one of his paintings recently sold at auction for close to £3 million!

Works may, as always, be purchased with the aid of the Arts Council OwnArt scheme, making things just that little bit easier, at zero interest.

Wine and cake (what a combination) will be on hand throughout Saturday, so do call in and say hello.

Finally, the gallery will be closed this Friday (2nd) to enable us to rehang the gallery in readiness for open doors on Saturday.

All for now,

Steve and Christine
