1st November, 2016

A reminder that we open the doors to Continuance, thirty eight new works by Alex Hain and Jess Pigott, this coming Saturday, 5th November. The full exhibition may be seen HERE

This is the second exhibition for Alex and Jess; both artists in their mid-twenties, Alex from Selkirk, Jess near Bath. We discovered Alex in his studio in 2014, and Jess at her London art school graduation show of the same year, and staged a highly successful exhibition over Easter 2015.

Alex and Jess are part of a growing movement within British Contemporary Art that is thoroughly modern and of the moment in execution and subject matter, yet uses the traditional form of paint to express that. It’s wonderful to see the emergence of this growing trend within the art schools of the UK, after so many years being pushed away by academics and critics as “old school”. It never was, isn’t and won’t be.

Alex and Jess will be in attendance at the gallery from 12 noon until 2pm; we’ll have our usual wine and nibbles reception. Please do come along and support these two young artists early in their careers. We also serve half decent wine!

The exhibition will run until Saturday 26th November, and don’t forget, everything may be purchased at zero interest over ten months with the aid of the Arts Council Own Art scheme.

See you there,
Steve and Christine
