The listed Georgian house situated in the 'gem town' of Cockermouth in the quiet north west corner of the English Lake District is home to the Castlegate House Gallery.
Exhibiting contemporary paintings, sculpture, ceramics and glass. Specialising in the work of Northern English and Scottish artists which includes Cumbrian painters Sheila Fell, Percy Kelly, Bill Peascod and Michael Bennett, and Scottish painters Barbara Rae RA, Douglas Davies and Marie Scott.
Within the walled Secret Garden there are exhibitions of sculpture.
With a changing programme of exhibitions and open fires in the winter months, there is always a reason to visit.

Leave A66 at Cockermouth and follow signs to the Town Centre, head towards Market Place and turn left up Castlegate Drive. Castlegate house is opposite Cockermouth Castle.
