Michael Bennett, doors open Saturday 19th at 10am
16th May, 2018
A reminder that we open the doors to our exhibition of paintings by Michael Bennett, from his studio and collection, this Saturday 19th May at 10am. We’ll be holding a reception from 12 noon to 2pm (gallery open until 5pm), with Mike’s sons Justin and Giles in attendance who I'm sure will be happy to talk about their father and his work. All works available may be seen HERE.
We’ll have Mike’s rather impressive easel on show, bedecked with many years of oil paint, to set the scene. We last showed Mike’s work in 2013 when we held a major fifty-plus year retrospective, so five years on we’re very much looking forward to the exhibition, which will run until 9th June. It’s been fascinating to go through the works chosen for the exhibition; many have never before been seen and are great examples of Mike’s work from varying decades; the 1960s until the last few years before Mike’s death in October 2016.
As usual, the gallery will be closed this Friday, 18th May, to allow the exhibition to be hung.
As a final note, I’m sure many will have seen emails regarding the GDPR changes to data retention rules. As we have often said, we never “acquire” email details from third parties nor do we ever divulge such to anyone else and use said information purely to advise of events at the gallery which people may be interested in. All on our email newsletter list have either proactively subscribed or have become clients of the gallery/requested inclusion in our newsletter group. As always, any and all are free to unsubscribe at any time through the link at the bottom of this email.
All for now, we hope to see you on Saturday or during the course of the exhibition,
Steve and Christine
