in 1983 Neil became the youngest artist ever to be elected as an associate member of the royal society of british artists. 10 years later he won the bronze medal at the Paris salon. since then he has shown at the RAs Summer Exhibition and major galleries in Britain and Europe. He moved to Cornwall in 1997 and lives and works in st Ives.
pasmore was a teacher at Camberwell and a member of the Euston Road Group when he met Ben Nicholson and visited st ives. He exhibited with the Penwith society. His absracts were more organic than nicholsons.. His wave series was inspired by St Ives. He produced a ceramic relief on the South Bank in 1951 for the Festival of Britain. 1n 1954 he became director of painting at kings College newcastle and was involved in urban design. with the new town of peterlee where his pavilion still stands. The Image in search of itself was produced by Kalpra studios in 1969 - 70 in an edition of 50.
Sandra Blow's innovative approach to painting in the 1950s assured her position as one of the leaders of the post war abstract movement. She studied at st Martins and the Royal academy School before travelling to Italy to the Academia de bel arte in Rome. Her lifelong friendship with alberto Burri whointroduced her to the potential of collage and the tensions between textures was a significant influence. She came to Cornwall in 1958 working in a barn studio near Zennor. SAhe became an RA in 1978. She returned to st Ives in the late 1990s. Last year, to celebrate her 80th birthday, a biography was published and a retrospective in the Tate.
Paul mount's three dimensional work is mainly in stainless steel and bronze. His interlocking pieces have a lightness and intriguing ingenuity. He jhas worked closely with architects producing integral sculpture as part of a building al over the world.from a water sculpture in Lagos and a supermarket in falmouth he has exhibited regularly at the Marlborough gallery and New Arts Centre in London, the Royal West of England Academy and Beaux Arts in Cork st and Bath.
