SHEILA FELL R A 1931 - 1979 : 1st April - 11th May 2005

sheila fell was an artist from Cumbria who tragically died aged 48 at the peak of her carrer. she studied at St Martin's School of Art in London was befriended by L S Lowry and went on to become one of the first women Royal Academicians. She was the subject of a large retrospective in 1990 which was at the Royal Academy and travelled the country. This is an exhibition of more than 40 works - many loaned to the gallery. It is the first solo exhibition since her death in 1979 with works for sale.
